The Only Competitive Advantage You Can Rely Upon These Days: A Peer-Powered Culture of Agility

About This Community of Practice

At THE ONE ADVANTAGE, we invite business leaders to convene and collaborate on the most pressing issues they face in today's ever-evolving, fast-paced world of accelerating disruptive change ... the "great resignation", stressed supply chains, inflation, hybrid workforces and emerging from the challenges of a global pandemic which affect us all.
As a community of practice, we engage together with all of our talents, skills, and diverse experiences ... meeting these challenges, and others inevitably coming, head on to be increasingly future-proofed.
By leading our businesses on transformational journeys to master the only competitive advantage we can rely upon these days as having any permanence ... a peer-powered culture of agility.  Everything else is increasingly temporary, increasingly quickly!

About Your Hosts

Three leading authors, speakers and practitioners, join you in this effort by triangulating unique insights at the intersection of their deep experiences with agility, culture and peer-power to future-proof your organization.

Mike Richardson is a business agility expert.

His first book, Wheel$pin:  The Agile Executive's Manifesto (2011) asked the question, "why, despite all of our investments in our businesses (you name it, we do it), do we still experience a lot more wheel$pin than we should?" Which can cost us a $fortune!  The answer: Agility, or rather a lack of agility. His second book, The 5 Roles of Everyday Agile Leaders:  Cracking the Agility Code (to be released in 2022) asks the question, "Why, despite all of the Agile inspiration and insights we are now surrounded by, does Enterprise Agility remain as elusive as it has ever been for most leaders?" The answer: an unbroken agility code.

Mike brings unique insights from the real world - as a Petroleum Engineer on offshore oil and gas drilling rigs, leader of the aerospace division of a British public company, and as a longtime CEO and Key Executive peer advisory group Chair and Speaker for Vistage Worldwide.

Jason Richmond is an authority on organizational culture.

His first book, Culture Spark: 5 Steps to Ignite and Sustain Organizational Growth (2019) revealed how to define and shape the culture you want to unleash the full power of your people. A culture of authenticity and transparency creates engaged employees and is the key to growth, talent retention and customer loyalty.  His second book, Culture Ignited: 5 Disciplines of Adaptive Leadership (2021) reveals how an adaptive culture can turn crisis into opportunity to weather any storm and get ahead of the competition. Jason is widely recognized and noted authority helping organizations, large and small, drive sustained growth through empowered employees and energized organizational cultures with diversity and inclusion.  Jason works with Fortune 100 corporations to develop customized learning, culture, and leadership development programs aligned with succession planning and talent management.

Leo Bottary is a thought leader on the power of peers in organizations.

Leo coined Peernovation, combining peer (people like me) and innovation (creativity realized). Peernovation occurs when a carefully selected, diverse collection of people with a common purpose and shared values work together to create something larger than themselves.

Leo's first book, The Power of Peers: How the Company you Keep Drives Leadership Growth & Success (2016), serves as the definitive narrative for how and why peer advisory groups for CEOs and business leaders are so effective. What Anyone Can Do: How Surrounding Yourself with the Right People Will Drive Change, Opportunity, and Personal Growth (2018) extended the concept from formal peer groups to the complete circle of people who surround us.  Leo's third book, Peernovation: What Peer Advisory Groups Can Teach Us About Building High Performing Teams, takes what peer advisory groups do so brilliantly and applies it to today’s workplace.

Leo has been an adjunct professor (strategic communication and leadership) since 2008 for graduate programs at Seton Hall and Rutgers universities. In 2015, Leo was named Adjunct Teacher of the Year for the College of Communication & the Arts at Seton Hall.

Struggling to Get Traction?

If you are struggling to get the traction on your transformation journey of enterprise agility, your organizational culture and collaboration amongst peers, you have come to the right place.

We are like-minded professionals from different walks of life. Regardless of what country we may reside in, we know that creating a peer-powered culture of agility is easy to talk about and hard to achieve.

It is the one most valuable advantage and yet the one least visible. Ironically, it is also the one our people are the most comfortable talking about and the least comfortable tackling.  As a result, in our experience, most leaders do not address it intentionally or consistently. Don't be among them.

Instead, let's work together in this dedicated community of practice, where we help each other develop peer-powered cultures of agility by being in a peer-powered culture of agility ourselves.

Who Should Join?

Successful, future-focused CEOs, Managing Directors, General Managers, Executive Directors, and Entrepreneurs who seek to build an agile, peer-powered culture capable of meeting today's (and tomorrow's) most pressing challenges.

Leaders and managers at all levels wanting to explore opportunity in adversity, who are open to listening to diverse perspectives and willing to roll up their sleeves to work on complex challenges that affect us all.

CHROs and CLOs who want to maximize the investment they are already making in creating people-centered, adaptable organizations as a strategy for attracting and retaining the top talent they need to compete.

Professional Service providers who want to be better business partners for the transformation journey - aligning your transformation journey with your clients.
